At EMPOWER teamwork and team building is fun. Here “team” is not just a word; it’s a way of operating. That’s why our teambuilding programs use action and real time challenges. By working with your teammates, you will learn how to establish and set goals, communicate for optimal performance, and your team(s) will achieve goals that may at first, seem truly impossible. That’s our way of building teams- through action, accomplishment, and a fast paced schedule of unforgettable experiences. The curriculum for teambuilding can include the following activities
1. ZIP LINE CANOPY TOUR – This is a super-fun shared experience that will have your group flying through the tree tops over 5 zip lines, 2 sky bridges, 2 optional climbing challenges and 9 platforms! We can facilitate the zip line course to be a trust and positive risk taking activity, a problem solving, communication and decision making exercise or and just an activity where mutual support and relationship building are the priorities. We will work with your group coordinator to plan this ahead of time.
2. TREE CLIMB – This partner assisted activity is perfect for emphasizing the importance of trust and communication and illustrates the rewards of taking positive risks. Additionally, each tree climb has two climbing lanes if you like to compete with your co-workers or group members!
3. MAP and COMPASS TEAMBUILDING CHALLENGE – This is a game where your group is divided into 2 or 3 teams and each team has to navigate through the woods finding different challenges and obstacles to overcome. Each obstacle and challenge has a point value and will require the group to think creatively, gain a consensus, delegate tasks, role play and improvise in order to accumulate the most points. The team with the most points at the end of the allotted time wins!
4. Ground Based TEAMBUILDING Games – These activities are minimal prop/low intensity games in which group members must work together to solve a problem. The problems may be physical (untangling the ‘Human Knot’), mental (figuring out the sequence of movement in ‘Traffic Jam’), or a combination of the two (getting all group members across a piece of land using only small foam squares in ‘Stepping Stones’). These games are usually fun activities for group members, however, the real benefit comes through the briefing and debriefing of each activity through group conversation and reflection.
5. Team Assessment Surveys – This anonymous survey is administered remotely by the EMPOWER Staff and measures team communication, trust, personal commitment, and the overall morale within your team. If you choose to have your team members complete this survey, we will compile and present the results with your group at the start of your program. The survey can also be re-administered after your program to measure improvements.
6. Action planning – At the conclusion of your program our staff will facilitate a group meeting during which your team members will identify lessons learned and commitments or action plans to support improved morale, communication, and teamwork throughout the year.
7. Super Fun Shared Experience – Some groups simply want us to organize a fantastic group adventure. These teambuilding programs allow groups of all kinds to bond with one another as you take on a variety of fantastic adventures. For the less adventurous we create roles to video tape and photograph the experience and our experienced guides are often able to help even the most timid participants, achieve more than they originally thought possible.
